Premium leather belt for wear with the navy uniform. IMPORTANT NOTE! Select your belt size from the drop down above. It is highly recommended that you add at least two inches to your waist size when ordering belts as they tend to run a bit tight. Belts come in even sizes so, for example, if you have a 31" waist, it is recommended you purchase a 34" belt

Does the sword come with a scabbard?

Yes. The sword comes in a heavy, polished leather scabbard, with 24k gold plated brass hardware.

How do our prices compare to Navy Exchange pricing?

What is the difference between a Sword and a Cutlass?

The sword is worn by US Navy Officers and the Cutlass is worn by US Navy Chief Petty Officers (CPO). In physical appearance, the sword is a straight blade with ornate etching and the cutlass is a curved blade with a rounded hand guard. Think of the cutlass as something similar to a pirate sword.

How long does it take to receive my sword if I get it engraved?

Please allow 7-10 business days for the engraving process. Vanguard, the sword manufacturers, engrave the blades for me. Once I receive it I generally ship it out to you the very next business day.

Should I get the blade engraved?

Engraving is very personal. It may be best to give us a call to discuss your particular needs.

How many characters of engraving are allowed per line?

Vanguard engraves their own blades for me. The font is in ALL CAPS/Times Roman. They will generally allow Rank and Name not to exceed 20 characters. For example, CAPT JOHNATHAN Q. DOE. Unlike the CPO cutlass, the sword blade is very ornate and covered with an etched design. There is only a small text block for the personal engraving.

What accessories are required to wear the sword with the uniform?

To wear the Navy Officer sword, the sword knot and leather sword belt are required

Will the airlines allow me to carry my sword on my flight?

It is best to check with the individual carriers regarding their policy but generally speaking, yes they will.

Is the Marlowe White Cutlass Certified for wear with the Navy Uniform?

According to the Navy Uniform Board, the Vanguard is the only blade that is certified and is sold in NEX/AAFES Uniform Shops. For questions regarding the certification of navy uniform items, please refer to the navy uniform board.

Can I have my purchase shipped to an APO or FPO address?

In all likelihood, yes. Please check with your local post office for restrictions/regulations.
