This beautiful collection of knots is characteristic of traditional 'fancywork' seen on navy 'Quarterdecks' and may be purchased in a 14x11 inch glass covered case or sold separately. The infamous cat o' nine tails recreated with a nautical flair. Although in all likelihood the cat was simply a section of rope which had the strands separated for disciplinary use. Only a few remain in museums today as they were usually thrown overboard after punishment had been meted out.
This fancy cat can be tied with a ball or star knot at it's base and is available in your choice of white or black nylon line or hemp.
The cat o' nines in the photo is made from nylon line and features a star knot at the base.
